I was looking at the Brooklin April 2, Weekly Diary.  One of the photos showed a model with description, "Elmo model of the GSX."  It looks like their 1970 Buick GS in different color, but I have no idea what the Elmo reference is.  Anyone know?

I don't, but I'm intrigued too.

Mo Brown and his brother have started a collection liquidation service and commissioned an LE of Brooklin's 1970 GS. There were fifty copies made available and it sold out quite quickly.

This was a model commissioned by two gentlemen who have formed Elmo Models; one being Mo Brown of Brooklin Collectors Club fame.  To celebrate the launch of their new venture,  they had 50 or so of the Buicks done in white with the GSX effects and all sold within a day or so, I believe.

@jkuvakas  Whoops...looks like we both answered JK, but you slightly ahead in time...much like the Buick serial #s.  Lol.

Thank you for your replies.  I wish this would have been made in larger quantities and available to a wider number of collectors.

After much detective work, Mo's brother is Elliot!   Hence ElMo Models... 😮

I think the sellout was two days. There were five left when I ordered on day 2. Initial pics look good, but I wish it had raised letter tires. I found "Goodyear" white tire decals online, but there are no opposite side decals for tire size, etc.

BTW, some things show up on Facebook before they reach here. Word to the wise.

@ed-davis I think that if more than 50 were made they would not have been sold out and they would have been left with unsold stock.

@jkuvakas The model is a 1970 Buick GSX 455 stage 1. This version of the car was only available in 2 colors. 491 in Saturn yellow and 187 in Apollo white.

This limited edition model turned out to be a sellout in 5 days.

@mingmong68  And the Saturn Yellow version was one half of a 2-model set done for the Brooklin Collectors Club members several years ago...right?

@jack-dodds Not really. The one done for the BCC was a convertible which turned out to be strictly inaccurate as it was a conversion and Buick only made the 2 colors in hardtop in the GSX version.

@mingmong68  Oh really?  Thanks for this info John...very interesting, as I have this set but didn't realize the convertible issue.
