Cadillac Osceola

Yesterday I received the 1905 Cadillac from VDM. While I'm an incompetent when it comes to technology, the purpose of this post is how this model came to be a part of my collection. Over three years ago, there was a post about this model on this forum which hit my like button. Long story short, I tried to place an order but because the maker was in the Ukraine, I wasn't smart enough to figure out how to send funds. In comes our leader John Kuvakas to the rescue and the order was placed. Thirty days later Ukraine was invaded by Russia and Vlad, the principal of VDM, and his family was displaced to Germany with no idea whether they would ever see their former home or remnants of his business. At that time Vlad immediately advised me that he would send me a refund for the funds sent which I refused as anyone in these circumstances would certainly need the funds more than me. I couldn't imagine being in that situation myself. Vlad again contacted me saying if it were ever possible, he would make the model for me and again I told him not to worry about the model only he and his families well being. Because of this background, the model will have a very prominent place in my collection along with a brief writeup about the human spirit of this very fine individual.

Bob and Lloyd - so glad you received your models. Some of you may recall Vlad sent me #7 of the Osceola and I reviewed it in MAR and here around September 2021, prior to the Russian invasion. Through Facebook I maintained contact with Vlad and am glad he is doing well. BTW, the folks who sent money and WILL NOT receive models are in Russia.
