Robert, Just today I was out in the storage area behind my workshop and looked at those boxes of boxes. My 1/43 collection isn't vast, but several hundred empty boxes may just give my survivors fits. Hope I'm around somewhere that I can see their reaction. Or maybe not. Anyhow, I'm interested in what you find. Keep these posts coming!

David, if you only knew! I've had this collection for six years, and have been chipping away at matching car to box, a long slow process. Now, with so few places to go with the current health situation, I'm at home more and working on the models. There are so many unique cars and I'll be posting a few so keep checking back.
The photos here are just a sample, I've got many more boxes of empty boxes and more Solido carousels. Sorted first by maker, then taking loose models and identify each and putting them loose in labeled boxes as shown. Then, sort the empty boxes and match model to box. Simple, I'll be done is a few years.
Hi Bob. I seem to recall CAM was associated with a company called Newcon, Maybe there's a Newcon box? It's from the 1970-1980s period of small artisan makes popping up all over. The only Datsun sports I have from the 1960s is a more recent model by Ebbro.
Have you been selling these? If so, ebay or somewhere else? Looking at your photos I see a match for the AMR/GYL Ferrari 400 between left center and bottom right. My recollection is that GYL was a sub-brand Andre Marie Ruf made for another shop, perhaps in Belgium(?). Feel free to post any you have a question about here, there's a few (very few) gray-haired old sports/racing guys here who remember this period and can help.
Newcon and Cam along with Rotarex were brands from Minicars' Kojima model shop. All ranges were active in the early 1980's and are white metal.

Looks like a fabulous collection Robert. I see many treasures including several Western Models Land Speed Record cars. Yes, a major task matching boxes. I’d love to have the task as I collect this stuff but I can understand your difficulties as an American car collector in other scales.
