A fascinating issue with many cool photographs ! I am sorry to hear that Mr. Danielson passed away. My Mom's side of the family is "Danielson" and my uncle and several cousins were involved with both the automotive/trucking and aircraft community.
A sad start to the Journal with two deaths, something unfortunately will happen to us all at some point. Great articles on many topics. I was particularly keen on the Le Mans feature and the wedge cars article. Thank you John and all involved with writing this fine publication.
I won one of the lots at the 8/9 Ralston auction. I wonder if it was one of Jeff Gurski's?
It was mentioned that the Dinky Wayne school bus had excellent rear markings, but only the front was shown. Here's the rear at an angle, where it says 'Unlawful to Pass While Loading or Unloading'. I wish I could find the version with the more correct black outlining (vs. red):
That Politoys Alfa is a beauty in light metallic green. I sold my silver one a few years ago in a weak moment. Re: Dome Zero, our old MAR friend Robin Godwin mentions a Kyosho version but I only know of an Ebbro. Perhaps both companies made one? Anyway, here is Ebbro No. 43898, circa 2006 or so:
Naturally I am envious of Fred Fravel's trip to Le Mans. The year I was there there wasn't a lot of pre-race stuff going on, or I was too late to see it. I'd love to see those vintage racers run! But at least I've seen one Cunningham on a track:
@karl You can use the pic above. I can see that the Kyosho and Ebbro are two different models. I was unaware of the Dome road car by Bizarre, but they did make the Dome Zero RL from Le Mans 1981.
The Dinky Wayne bus is one of my favorites I have had since maybe 1961. It is interesting that Rod Ward in his Sun Motor resin kit range used some of this bus to create an truck based International Loadstar school bus. He must have got the decals right as it has the rear warning in black not red.

And speaking of school buses since I spent my grade school and high school years riding to school in Hayward California built Gillig built buses I had to have a model of one. This was a extensively modified Corgi GM "old look" transit bus conversion in 50th scale.
These were Cummins powered mid mounted underfloor engines with five speed non syncho gearboxes. Earlier versions in the late '50s were rear engined Ford 534 Super Duty gasoline V8 powered. Gilllig buses were common back west along with the Los Angeles made Crown Super Coach shown here but in a smaller scale.

I have the Dinky Toys Wayne buses in my collection; two in school bus yellow (1 red lettering/trim, 1 black) and the blue and white version.....love them!
@mg-harv Yeah, I have a fair number of them and also most of the regular wheels and MOY Matchbox, but not as extensive as your Harv! I guess we could be called nostalgia buffs hey? 😆
Yes, I'm one of those nostalgia buffs as well. I think for the 85% of the Dinkys collected from 1955 to 1970, I still have the boxes! And joined the Dinky Toy club back in 1957
And still have the club certificate and lapel badge. Even once visited the 13 Binns Road Liverpool factory but it was shut down for some reason although a nice sales manager greeted me for a conversation.
