My dad was a longtime Olds guy and, among others, had a '63 convertible (88, I believe) and a '66 Starfire. This car is neither but, as they say, close enough for hand grenades and horseshoes. My photos don't do justice for the model, especially the black-and-white interior. As an aside, I bought this car from Route 66 after seeing a different colored model on John Kuvakas' table in the photos he shared from the Chicago show last month!
Very nice, Ted.
Very nice ! A great-looking model of this neat automobile in a terrific color here, too. I have a red and also a black/white version of this excellent Oldsmobile from Yat Ming in 1/18 scale.
Having owned two 1/1 scale 62 Starfire coupes, this model was a must have for me. Rarely do I buy more than one color in a model but in this case, I bought three. I have the red/white, black and blue metallic.
Congratulations on your purchase. It is an excellent model for sure, and for this collector, choosing a color was a terrible ordeal. I liked so many of them. Over a period of time, I was able to add six colors to my collection. My white one is a convertible.

I have two Conquest 1962 Oldsmobiles, a garnet mist convertible and a red and white two door hardtop. I love both of them. They are excellent models.

This Conquest is a stunning model. The '62 is my fave Olds of its decade bar none.
Nice snag, Ted! Those are hard to find and you got a beauty!

@ed-davis I have the same burgundy color but as a hardtop. The wipers look like bayonets so I carefully removed them into storage in the box and found more size accurate ones and replaced them. Now it is spot on and for the price of this model, we should have received a credit or replacement wipers. The later versions of this car had much more accurate wipers.
Regarding the wipers, here is a photo comparison. The car on the left is my garnet mist convertible, which was part of the first series of Starfires. The car on the right is my red and white hardtop, which was part of the last series of Starfires. You can see the difference in the wipers.
