Cord L29 by Solido - a question or two
Is it 1929 or 1930? Or neither? And would they call it a sedan? It's rather a landaulet....

Thanks!
Solido Cord L29
The Cord L29 was introduced in 1929 and production stopped in 1931. During that era, the year number was not commonly used as the definitive description of a car. During 1930, the Cord L29 engine had a horsepower increase and a lowered price, but those were the only significant changes in the nearly three years of production, so far as I can find. I also found one reference that stated the L29 introduced in 1929 was advertised as an early 1930 model, but I haven't been able to substantiate this. Solido made the Cord with "1929 Cord L29" on its base as a part of the L'AGE D'OR series. In the 1990 brochure, Solideo referred to the 2-door convertible coupe as the "Spider," but refers to the 4-door in your photo as only the Cord L29. I like Solido's interpretation of both versions, especially in the fender lines and bumper treatments. Thanks for giving me the urge to pull mine out and put it on the desk with a "vrooooom."

Albert - the Cord in the photo is a post Majorette .....
Solido. Solido were taken over by Majorette in, I think, 1981 and some details on Solido's Age D'Or line were simpified after this date. The Cord was realised prior to 1981 and this version has far better white walls.
