Thanks, Des. I recognize the long history between the CTCS and Brooklin, and I had no intention of seeming anti-Canadian in my post. I hope it wasn't interpreted that way. It makes perfect sense that the CTCS models have a Canadian theme, just as the SFBBC models had a northern California theme. I'm really sorry that the SFBBC has passed into history. The fact that the CTCS and Brooklin continue their relationship is a great tradition.

I think that this is a terrific model, and the fact that the small wheels are removable is a great feature, one I didn't know until you mentioned it. Thanks also for clarifying the roof equipment---I knew that something was going to be attached there, but didn't know exactly what it is!

Selling them at a lesser price?

Lesser prices

How many times have we seen models issued at a price sell at lower prices, sometimes very low? A CTCS model just sold yesterday on eBay at a $60 discount from issue price.

The classic example I have experienced was at a show in Chicagoland where I saw George Pekariks BRK #16 McDonalds offered at $25 in volume. I told the seller I had paid $130 for one on the issue price. He responded by saying I should "average down". Ah yes, being in the right spot at the right time is so crucial. Patience and perseverance can often times pay, right?

I was offered a large number of the Pekarik Dodge Coke Trucks.

As I recall the price was $20 or $25 each. I think I bought 35 or 40 of them and traded and sold them all. As I recall I wound up with about 12 nice white metal models, mostly fairly rare Brooklins and had got all my money back besides.
However incidents like this are not comparable to this situation where these CTCS models, in past years, were distributed to dealers at prices less than I paid for mine, immediately after the show. Please read page one of the order form which states: "this will be your only chance to acquire this offering." Illegal? Probably not, immoral? That is a matter of opinion.

Pekarik or Brennan? I thought MTI did the Dodge Coke vans, but I could be wrong.

Those were the McDonald pick-ups. The barrel on the back reads Coca-Cola.

OK - I was thinking of the vans.
