Sixty-two years ago, November 30, 1960, marks the day the last DeSoto rolled off the production line.  To remember that car here are some pictures of my DeSoto collection.  Compared to some of you this is a small collection, but it includes a nice representation of models.

The first set of pictures includes a Conquest 1942, a Brooklin 1954, and a Conquest 1956.

The second set of pictures includes a WMCE 1957, WMCE 1958, and Conquest 1960.

I hope you like the photos of a colorful set of models.

Very nice Desoto Collection. I particularly like the 1942 and you should install the hood ornament.

Fine models, Ed.  Here's an older '56 Adventurer in 1/43.

Really excellent DeSotos ! They were a good looking car, even right up to their end and make for fine models in any scale.

@moe-parr

I remember seeing a review of the green Brooklin 1942 convertible in an old diecast magazine and they gave it a nice write-up. The red and black Brooklin DeSoto hardtop is my newest DeSoto addition.  I purchased it last month from Buz at Route 66 Model Car Store.  I had been looking for this model, and he had one in his own collection, which he sold me.

Ed, all 6 models are gorgeous! the '54 Brooklin looks incredibly enhanced. I remember a few years ago, I called Buz for a '56 DeSoto hardtop (same color as yours) and he told me he sold the last one just a few short hours previous....did you get mine?

The Brooklin 1954 DeSoto does look very enhanced, but this is the way it came from Brooklin. The plated window trim is especially nice and is as good as current models. There are many other plated parts. Regarding the 1956 hardtop, I did buy it a few years ago, so maybe it was “yours”. Sorry.

Thanks, Ed, for starting this thread! I might need a 1960 DeSoto, now that I know their end was exactly 1 month before my beginning! 🤔

I've always been a fan of the DeSoto cars and appreciate the selection shown here. I have the Collector's Classics and Franklin Mint versions but see I have others to collect.

All shown are post war. Are their any DeSoto models demo the 1930s? A friend has a 1936 full sized DeSoto Coupe with a rumble seat. His is metallic moss green but looks like the one pictured. Did anyone model this?

@david-green

I also wondered about pre-1940 DeSoto models. I did not know of any.

Here's my kind of unusual '47 DeSoto coupe, a KAGER Edition on a Vitesse product.

And then another 1/43 that isn't seen too often, and it's heavy (12 oz.)
