After bringing home a few goodies from Countryside I was greeted Monday by our mail carrier with a big box. Suffice to say I will have quite a bit to post well into next week. First up is No. 48 in DeAgostini's American Cars series. I have to say this series has had me scrambling on the internet a few times to research just what they made. This is one such case, as I don't recall this one at all.
Royal Pontiac in Royal Oaks, Michigan was one of those dealerships that took advantage of the muscle car era and put their own touches on the GTO. GMC provided the engineless GTOs to Royal, and sold the 428 cu. in. RAM AIR V engines separately, to get around a GM 400 cu. in. limit on such engines in anything but the largest cars. An excellent story on the background on Royal and this car is here: https://www.streetmusclemag.com/news/muscle-cars-you-should-know-69-royal-bobcat-pontiac-gto-ram-air-v/
The color seems to be Crystal Turquoise Poly with Royal's special white trim. And I love the redline tires. Someone at Premium Collectables Trading is doing a lot of research!
That is a very nice model.

I have this one too Harv and I must say that it is well done for the price range. I have most of this range and have not been disappointed so far.
I'm up to 15 of them and agree nice for the price (as long as you order a bunch at a time to save on postage). I probably won't buy the ones where I already have the Ixo or Premium X equivalent though (like the '70 Chevelle or '72 Riviera).
Fantastic Pontiac model ...... this one's a real stunner. That color scheme is a true eye-catcher.
Looks really nice. The colour scheme is a stand-out. I immediately went on the hunt and found a model shop in Barcelona offering it at 19 Euros (£15 - US$20). Another 11 Euros for shipping but still a bargain. The site now says "Out of stock" so apparently I grabbed the last one at that price, although I'm sure there are other sellers around.
Look forward to seeing it in the metal. Thanks for posting, Harvey. I might have overlooked it otherwise.
