In 1966 Mercury issued four color variations of the Ferrari 275P sports racing car from 1964. These were meant to reflect the official racing colors of four countries - Germany (silver - sold as "Nurburgring"), UK (green - sold as "Silverstone"), Italy, and USA. None represent actual race team colors. All had removeable rear decks exposing the V12 motor. Here's the Italian "Monza" version, No. 57:
No. 58 is the "Sebring" edition. Although there are decals along the front fenders which read "North American Racing Team", NART never had lettering such as this and mostly used only their own team's version of the prancing horse as an emblem.
I bought these two off a Traders Horn ad in 2000. They came from the collection of Chuck Jordan, whom I think many of you recognize. Not long before I called to reserve these, I had bought my 2000 Miata. On the phone with Chuck, he said he also had a new car - a Ferrari 360 Modena spyder. Well, I certainly couldn't one-up that. He told me his son had followed in his footsteps, and actually had a hand in the design of the second-gen Miata.
Harv -- A nice set of Mercury models. I believe I have one of the other versions of this Ferrari;
the British one shown here!

I also have the green one, brothers in diecast! These were part of a 5-car set, that I have seen go for crazy money. The box is great though!
