Does the new BRK luxury box with the clear acrylic case is available only from the manufacturer?

No. You can get them from dealers, but no doubt on special order

Although I like the collector's box maybe at some point I'll try the luxury box if there isn't too much of a big difference in price and if the protection is similar or superior?
