Here are some pictures of my just-received Esval 1955 Oldsmobile Super 88 Holiday Coupe in the striking red-and-black color combo.
I'm very impressed with the level of detail, especially the OLDSMOBILE lettering within the grille! A beautiful model.
Thanks to Mark Sweeney.

Excellent pictures Barry. This is an outstanding model which I have in blue/white.
I received the blue & white one which is very nice indeed. I had to glue one front fender trim piece that had come adrift though. That 2-tone green version is really nice too IMO.
Outstanding photos guys. It is a very nice model. I have the black/red & blue/white versions.

I like this model, and I have good memories of those Oldsmobiles. But I always wondered just a little about those painted with a solid color on the lower half, like the green over yellow coupes above. Somehow it seemed that the chrome slashed area just didn't stand out at all. But maybe I just enjoyed the contrast more when it was so dramatically done. Thanks for the good posts, Moe and Albert.

Great photos! Now if they were 1:24 scale, I'd be all over them like flies on a church picnic potato salad. I just can't push myself in to 1:43 scale. TOO SMALL!

George, I was strictly 1:24 too. Then I found a car in 1:43 that I absolutely love - '71 Imperial - that was not available in 1:24. So I ordered it in 1:43 and now I actually prefer that scale! Try 1:43 with this '55 Olds that you love. You may be pleasantly surprised to find that you like the scale!

I have a cousin and a friend that have many 1:43 scale cars, so I've been around them. But sadly, even Oldsmobile doesn't make me like that size. Not saying there are some very nice models in that scale, but they're just not for me.
