Brooklin #13 was one of Brooklin’s very early models released in 1982 and even today looks good despite current standards of chrome detail. Discussion reveals that some collectors add chrome detail with good results while others choose to keep them original. Just for fun here are some comparisons with actual ‘Birds. Fiesta Red was the first color. Colonial White came later. I believe Buckskin Tan was the second color to be offered.
Great picture, Gianluigi. I have all but the Colonial White with black interior and I continue to keep an eye out for one. I also have one finished in Sunset Coral that was a color change when I restored a damaged red one I found on the internet.
Thanks for the pics, David! I didn't have a '56 T-Bird in my collection and you inspired me to buy (at a great price!) the Fiesta Red one. I should have it next week, looking forward to it!
Very timely and interesting subject for me, David. I am now creating a 54-57 T Bird Parade for our layout that will include 14 models. Four of my Brooklin models are now being custom painted to reflect colors that Brooklin did not do, but were Ford production colors.
Here's a Durham Model in concept colors that migrated into other Ford models.
There is so much Fairlane 500 DNA in that Thunderbird!
A nice selection of Thunderbird models. I have one original version of the red one. I have considered the others from time to time, but haven't got anymore yet.
I have several individual Brooklin models of the T-Birds plus the three pack which includes the 55,56 and 57. I also have the Durham black 54 concept car. I truly wish Brooklin would consider making the 63 Sports Roadster. The only 1/43 scale 63 Sports Roadster by Zaugg which is quite dated with several flaws in it's proportions.
