As I have matured (nice term for getting old), and as my display and storage spaces have shrunk, I turn more and more to an accumulation of kits, mostly 1/43. Now, after a couple of years of building, that area is starting to thin.
But the model I have just finished had its chance, took it, and almost finished me instead of vice versa! The Italian company of Idea3, at least in this No. 17 model, either left some parts out of my sealed purchase (from a secondary source) or else someone removed some and resealed with skill. A lot of improvisation became necessary. More obvious was the condition of the major body's roof, apparent upon purchase and not a company error; that one also necessitated some head scratching.
Enough commentary. Here's the process:
I think my next one is going to be a more simple kit. But first I'm going to rest for awhile.

A very difficult model David, when all said and done. I think that you did a very creditable job.
I've built a few Idea3 models and found the earlier issues like yours similar to Mikansue and John Day in effort required. Missing pieces makes it even harder.
I still have the 1937 Talbot Largo which I will try to dig out to photograph.
Well both Davids, you have to be commended for taking on, or even holding onto, these old kits. I still have a very few, the oldest of which is the Auto Replicas Amilcar Italiana, which I doubt I'll ever build. But it is a splendidly detailed kit that deserves an expert build.
