but I have only just got around to trying out the "Search" feature (the little "magnifying glass" icon in the toolbar at the top of the page).
I tried it first with a single word "Cresta" and up came the relevant post I was looking for about the Trax Vauxhall Cresta.
I wondered if it could cope with more than one key word so I tried "Chevrolet Trax" and again I got a hit.
I didn't try experimenting to see if it will find a combination of words scattered through the text of a post, or only key words in the topic title, but it is certainly useful for tracking down posts from some way back, rather than having to plough through 50 or more pages of topics. (Life is too short).
Maybe there are some folks out there who are even slower on the uptake than me and didn't realise this feature was available, so I just thought I'd mention it.
p.s. Just out of interest I did another experiment. I searched for "AutoArt" and got a list of topics where the word appeared anywhere in the text of a post or in a photo caption, with the search term highlighted in blue. With the old system, to find an older post you had to go to "Archive", guess the correct month, then scroll though the whole page of posts for that month in the hope of spotting what you were looking for.
So, even more useful.

I would definitely be one of the 'even slower' ones. Many thanks.
It searches for words in the titles and in the text of the posts. It will also search any tags anyone puts on a post. So, if you use your search terms carefully, you can construct a helpful search.

I've found this new website search excellent once I realized that I had to tap "return' to start the search. Search has been really helpful in reducing some repetition on my part. For instance I was about to relist a feature on Norev MGA models but on searching found I had already done that earlier. I could also see if others had discussed certain items.
Search is a useful time saver and a great research tool.
I've used it numerous times almost from the beginning. I have found it very useful to search my older posts, it helps me to keep track of the models I have already posted.
I do the same on Facebook to avoid double posts or to keep track of what I posted where.
At my job, my company does most everything by email, so using searches are the only way to track down important posts.

Oh yes, "Search" is always a useful thing to have. I just thought that in this case it might offer quite limited functionality (e.g. maybe it would only find things on the current page of topics) so was pleased to see it has a comprehensive search capability.
