Found while looking for something else! An older treasure re-discovered. (pic)

The price tag is still on the side of the box: Asheville Diecast, 13.95. I don't have a date for my acquisition, but Fremont closed his store several years ago. This fire truck was part of a small series, but this one I packed back, probably for lack of display space. As I look at it again, it's special! I like it parked beside my Packard too.

Detailing is just fine, and the Chinese factory workers did a good assembly job. This is a Yat Ming product in their Signature series. Please be aware that there's another firm out there producing die casts under a similar name and (brace yourself) their stuff is 1:32. And, even worse, sometimes secondary sellers don't know the difference.
One last look.

It's kind of nice to see this one again and realize that quality doesn't always have to break the bank. Enjoy!
These YatMIng fire trucks are, perhaps, the best buy ever in 1/43 vehicles. I have always admired them but never bought them because of a lack of room to display them and also because I didn't want to get hooked on a new category. Great pictures David.
Right you are Bob - here's all the US and a couple of UK versions (except color changes)

Thanks Harvey. You have a terrific grouping there.
Thanks, Harvey. The depth of your collection is amazing!
Great collection, Harvey. I've got a few of them

It's funny that these come up now, because I saw the 1:43 Yat Ming fire truck assortment at my local Toys R Us store two days ago. They appeared to be new old stock and were priced at $19.95. I had never seen any Yat Ming products at TRU before.
So Bob, you may be tempted again when visiting your local TRU. And I agree with you - they are very well made detailed models.
And Lucky Diecast is.....
re-releasing them in various fire company liveries. The three (Yatming) that I have were all in the $13 to $15 range. I'm not sure what the Lucky versions are going for.
Always liked those trucks David, and nice to find a Surprise! model.
