I came across an auction listing on eBay that featured this model, a 1946 Hudson Commodore 8 Convertible. The listing indicated it as a Prototype, #01 of 150. The listing goes on to say that this model is different than the production run with some additional features, such as the grille mounted running lights and the spotlights as well as an unusual color not before seen.
I'm not sure about any of this, I found very little info in my resources or on hobbyDB, but with that, the model is very cool, and I've been looking for a Hudson closed convertible for a while now.

A great score John....good for you! I love it.
I was watching that auction. Glad to know it’s in your collection!
Very good score ! That is a really nice 1946 Hudson and in an exceptional color.
Nice catch John. I have never been able to find the convertible but have the coupe. Always liked this body style from Hudson.
Once again my lack of record keeping jumps up and bites me. I just came across my 1946 Hudson convertible in dark Blue with a tan up top.
