One of the "few" models that I picked up at the last Countryside model show. This one is a beauty.

It looks gorgeous ..... and especially in this "de-lovely" deep blue color.

The '49 Desoto convertible is one model I do not have but wish I did. I consider it my holy grail. I have been looking for one for a couple of years, however, they seem to be beyond my maximum price point. Also, the blue one that you have shown us is my favourite color on this model. Congrats John.

@mikedetorrice I agree about that color!  Don't see too many DeSotos in blue!

Wouldn't mind finding one of those nice Desoto convertibles but not at the prices being asked so will have to be satisfied with this selection.

@john-quilter

What prices are being asked for that 1949 DeSoto? It would be a nice addition to my DeSoto collection, but suspect it would be expensive.

Is there any connection between Alloy Forms and Motor City items?     These sedans are showing up on Ebay at not outrageous prices but no convertibles, even doing an advanced  search for completed listings.   Must be very rare.

Yes, they were a precursor to Motor City - I added what Randall Olson knew about them here:  https://www.hobbydb.com/marketplaces/hobbydb/subjects/alloy-forms-brand
