That ‘59 Edsel is a beauty even though it was an answer to a question nobody asked. Nice model John.

Nice pictures John. I have this model in turquoise with a white top.
Sorry to say I'm not too keen on this "gem". I have the original Western Models issue and always thought the side trim looked seriously oversized - there is almost more chrome than paintwork on the body sides - and some of the body details are also rather too rounded and "bulgy" for my liking. It looks like it's carved out of soap.
But I may be in a minority of one here.

The '59 is my favorite year of Edsel but I think I'm in a minority on that thought. I haven't managed to obtain a 1:43 model of it yet for some reason.
And some 1:1 versions but these are the base line and more common Rangers. Corsairs had more chrome trim on the rear quarters and as Graeme says, may have been a bit over done on the Western model version.

Here is a picture of the 1:1 scale 1959 Edsel, which matches John's red and white model. The car is owned by Buz from Route 66 Model Car Store. I took the photo at a car show in Naperville, Illinois in 2021.
