I've been looking for one of these for a while and recently came across one on eBay offered by Forum 43 member Jack Dodds. As always, Jack's models are 1st rate. This is a wonderful model, and to be honest, I don't know much about the Austin A70, but the style intrigues me. The wood-bodied wagon has always been an interesting entry in the American automotive market, and I find it fascinating that it had a world-wide appeal.

More info on Austin A70 Herefords and a few more one can chase after.   The A70 Hereford was styled like the slightly smaller Somerset.  The A70 was made from 1950 to 1954 in saloon, drophead, and the pictured estate version.  A 2199cc OHV four cylinder engine powered it through a column shifted four speed gearbox to a 4.12 final drive.   This engine was similar to that used in the early Austin Healey sports car but with a single Zenith carburetor.  The smaller Somerset used a 1200cc B series four cylinder OHV engine, also with a four speed column shifted gearbox (the green car).    The 1:1 car pictured was owned by a number of people in the British car contingent on the west coast after being imported from western Canada where it was sold new.

Love this woodie. I have this in a couple colors. Bought one in this color, too, on eBay but the seller packed it loose in the box (arg!) so it was destroyed when it got to me. Such a shame.

Pete Kenna did that black/gold version which I snapped up in 2015. There may be more than one of the 1:1s around, as I heard the one Pete modelled may be in Norway.

There was a limited number run of this wagon done in a light blue-green color which was really attractive.  I bought it when I was in England but sadly it was stolen back in 2017.
