I'm putting together a couple of interesting posts (at least I think so) for later, in the meantime... I was going through some files with unposted photos, this one was interesting too.
1953 Chevrolet Bel Air Hardtop Sport Coupe, Motor City USA, in Campus Cream & Woodland Green

This is an attractive and accurate color combo for this Chevy. I removed the Modelex decals on Brooklin's 1954 Bel Air of this color and got a similar look....minus the chrome trim of this Motor City issue of course.
Motor City did a magnificent job on this one! Great pics John.
Have it, love it. I have it displayed next to the Brooklin 54 which a late friend detailed for me many years ago.
@bob-jackman, which do you think is a better casting? IMO, the Brooklin never got the respect it deserved because of its lack of detail and heavy-handed paint.

As usual, great pics, John. It's a very nice model.

That does look pretty good, no question. The older I get the more I appreciate 1953 & '54 Chevrolets. 😎
@jkuvakas John, I would rate the castings as about equal. My late friend scraped my models for me and that eliminated the heavy-handed paint. The detail is so great that he even scraped the power glide script on the deck lid. It has always been my experience that in the hands of someone like my late friend, that these older Brooklins are true gems. Foiling over the painted details only makes them more out of scale.
@bob-jackman, thanks. That says a lot about how good the Brooklin casting was. That MOC was excellent for its time. But many of the Brooklins were nearly as good, only lacking in detail and finesse.

Those 1953 (and 1954) Chevrolet Bel Airs look wonderful ! My Dad had a 1953 coupe that was yellow with a white top and it was one of the first cars I remember getting a ride in. In 1/18 I have a SunStar blue/white coupe and a yellow convertible.
And Arena does a 1954 Belair in a resin kit with multiple Panamericana decals, but you have to build it. Image from Ebay.

Oh yeah, I forgot about this one - which is a GOOD one! 😎 😎 😎
