Here's a couple of vintage Western Models. These Chrysler models from 1951 & 1952 have always fascinated me. I saw photos of a couple of them in a few places probably in 2017 or 2018. I was very intrigued but unfortunately the models themselves didn't seem to be all that available. I was lucky enough to come across a New Yorker convertible in 2019, I snapped that one up and it was a perfect companion to my '51 & '52 Imperial models from Brooklin. I continued to look from time to time, bid and lost on a couple of them. In 2021, I found a New Yorker Newport that came my way. Now just a couple of months ago, I came across these Windsor models, they are very nice (although the headlight lenses have yellowed) With these four and the multiple Brooklin Imperial models, I think I've got the early 50s Chrysler models covered pretty well.

These both look superb in these excellent pictures of each. You're right ... the Chrysler cars from those years are really good-looking, solid automobiles. I have a 1952 2 door Chrysler from Brooklin and it is a real favorite.

@jcarnutz Big thumbs up 👍 from Moe Parr on these beautiful Chryslers which I didn't even know existed! Thanks for posting, John!

Since the Westerns are near impossible to find, and very dear,  you can get these items now as Arena kits in resin.  They are Panamerican race cars a sedan and a club coupe but i got extras and made a Town & Country station wagon (from a sedan) and a convertible (from a club coupe).  I suspect the Arena kits may be patterned off the Westerns.

Wow, two great finds!  We just published Dale's full story about these WKD's in MAR Online.

Don't forget the '51 New Yorker pace car. It too has yellowed headlamps, a common malady of 20th century handbuilts from the UK where resin was used to fill in. Brooklin avoided this for many years by casting the lens fluting. I hope the headlamps on their newer models avoid this.

@mg-harv But your decals have held up much better than others (like the yellowed one's on Pascal's on hobbyDB).  😆

@chris  Sorry, no Chrysler hardtop, but this Imperial will have to do.

Western Models

Very nice John, and they seem to have an abundance of detail for Western models.

I have only 2 Western models that have this level of detail.....they can easily be mistaken for WMCE's.

That Oldsmobile by Western is really hard to find.  Few must have been made.  But am always hoping someone will do one of these, also a 1941 Oldsmobile.

Or maybe even one of these.

Yes it is a hard to find model John, and I paid the hard to find price for it, but it was a fair price for the model.

I also bought the green Buick from the same seller.
