From My Collection... "Studebaker Day"

I just don't seem to have the time to contribute very many posts these days, but today's entry is one I've wanted to share since the model arrived the end of April. Since I am currently unable to spend much time outside due to the heat, I took a bit of time today for some photo taking. I've wanted one of these models for quite some time, not sure why I didn't add it when it was a current offering. I've tried several times to acquire the model unsuccessfully for one reason or another in the past couple of years. Finally, in April, I got it. My oversite has cost me a bit more than issue price to acquire it, but since it was coming from Buz at Route 66 Models, I knew it would be worth every penny. I've tried on several occasions to acquire this model; each has been a failure. This is kind of a Holy Grail for me, so I am very pleased. Now this model is a beauty, one I've been fascinated with since I saw the 1:1 in 2014 at the Studebaker National Museum. 1947 Studebaker Champion Deluxe Wood-Bodied Wagon - Prototype

The "orphan" nameplate brands like Studebaker, Hudson, Packard and Nash sure made some really attractive automobiles ! Great-looking cars that deserved to be around longer and perhaps have a better ultimate fate.
