It's been a minute since I posted the last model in my series of DeSoto model posts. It has been that time, because when I went looking for photos of my 1955 models, I didn't find any I was too thrilled with. Which means these are up for an immediate retake session, or at least as soon as I can get them done.
In the meantime, here's one set some minor rework makes them acceptable.

and as an added bonus, here's a 1:1 that inspired me to buy this model

Perfect comparison John. I have the model in light blue/white.
John, do you have a Conquest 1956 DeSoto 2 door hardtop, and do you have a set of photos of it? I would like to see a side profile comparison of them. Other than the fins on the 1956, I think the side profiles should be the same. When looking at your 1955 and my 1956, the distance from rocker panel to top of door seems different on the two, and I think they should be the same. Thanks.

Ed, I do. All things considered; they are both excellent models, but they aren't quite right. The windshield is too shallow, and the roof doesn't sit quite high enough, also too shallow. In addition, the thickness at the top of the roof is a bit too thick. With that, I still like both of the models very well. They've captured the look of the '55 & '56 nicely and I'm pleased to have them both.
the '55
the '56
the '56 from Collector's Classic, which I think sits better
