This model was issued by Matrix Models a few years ago. I passed on originally but was able to find one at a good price in early 2024.A very unique and distinctive model. The 1938 factory Buick is, for me, a very polarizing style with a lot of class and distinction built in. This model takes that to a whole new level.

It's interesting to think that Buick had that level of prestige in the late thirties, that a custom coach builder would take one on as an ultra-high-end work of art. But they were at the top of their game.

A great post, John.  When I was eight years old my best friend's mother would pick us up from Cub Scouts in a 1938 Buick.  She had others of interest, including a 1937 Chrysler and a Metropolitan, and it was because of her that I fell in love with 1930s cars.

Super unique John and what a distinctive paint scheme: break-wise and color-wise.

Perhaps F&D took inspiration from this Freestone & Webb Rolls from the year before?

Can you describe a car as exquisite? Yes, and this is that!
