When I started collecting models in 1:43 scale, the Imperial was a big interest for me, unfortunately there were only a select few available. Well, things have changed over the last few years. Tom Dirnberger/GLM have brought some significant Imperial models to the collector. Gorgeous models from 1958, 59, 60 & 61. First, we got some convertibles in these years, then a couple of limousines. Now we are getting some Southampton 2 & 4 door hardtops, and boy are they something special.

Here's the latest releases from Tom Dirnberger Exclusives/GLM.

The 1960 Imperial Southampton Hardtop Coupe in Midnight Blue Metallic & Regent Ruby ... both models are Limited Editions, #01 of 60.

I just ordered one today. I am not a big fan of Imperials but the color is striking and I need one. By the way, this is not a Crown model but a Custom Southampton. This is the entry level in the line.

As for the number sticker attached to the plinth, I don't think it is relevant to any added value to the model. I am sure they are randomly attached. Of course, this is just my opinion and I really don't care which number of this LE I will receive.

Beautiful!  Imperial is my favorite brand of luxury cars from the 50s-70s.

Great pics John, thank you.  I am waiting for my dark blue Imperial to arrive; it will display well beside the dusk mauve poly convertible.  I had one heck of a time deciding between these two color choices but went with the blue, mainly because of the roof trim.  The white interior really provides a nice contrast on the dark red one though!
