I am wondering if the Pan Am decals on the Goldvarg Crosley panel van are removable using water and of course a little rubbing. I would like to have a civilian version of this panel truck and like the blue color. Does anyone have experience with such a thing using a Goldvarg model?
Jack, I have NO direct experience removing Goldvarg decals, but I have successfully removed countless others. I'll state the obvious.... if GV decals are sealed (under a gloss cote ) then you might as well quit unless you plan on repainting. If, however, they're just applied...I'll bet a few "safe" toothpicks & a toothbrush would do the job. Occasionally, "scrubbing" decals with Vaseline will work. The light friction and subtle oils are enough to breakdown decal paint and/or film. Good luck! 😀Â

Thanks for that info I appreciate it
@chris I don't think anybody use decals anymore. They maybe silk printed as Stamp models do for their trim. I would use No 2 Novus Polish as a light compound and complete the job with the No 1.

That's good advice.... thank-you.

@nickies Agreed. As I noted, I have NO experience with GV models; I don't know how their graphics are applied. I was hesitant to suggest any light polish (even toothpaste! ) because I didn't want Jack to harm his paint.
As YOU know, factory paint (regardless the model's price point ) isn't always flat, smooth & shinney. Any area "buffed out" will immediately be in contrast with the remaining paint. 😔 😔Â
I heartily second the use of Novus products.

I'd like to mention that I've successfully removed the printing from First Gear models with non-acetone nail polish remover on a Q-Tip.
Maybe Sergio would have some info on how these "decals" are applied.  As to polishing, I have used a compound known as Blue Magic. I think it is a sort of jewelers rouge.
