Thanks for your reaction.
Great models these carlectables and most of them were very detailed with steering and detailed chassis.
I,like them very much, although I am not so familiar with Australian cars.
We were in New Zealand in 2004 and saw them in a shop near Lake Taupo and I could not resist to buy 3 models:
2003 Holden Ute, 2004 Falcon and a beauty 1934 Ford Utility.
Via internet I bought in 2007 :
2002 Holden Commodore, 1999 Falcon and another beauty 1933 1933 Ford V8.
All these cars are very detailed except the 2002 Holden Commodore, this one has molded bottom chasiis plate.
I do not know if the company still excist:
Classic Carlectables by Southern Model Supplies S.-Australia.
On eBay are suppliers from Australia and the UK, but more is in 1/18.
I have a lot of Trax diecast and resin models in my collection. Most of them are US based cars.
Classic Carlectables are still in business.
Their website (classiccarlectables.com.au) shows current and previous releases and their latest is a pretty detailed Holden EH ute, but it is 1:18 scale.

A rival outfit, Biante Models, is also still around. At one point I was hopeful that these two companies were going to be a useful source of models of some Australian road cars that it looked like Trax would never get around to doing, and they did come up with some nice 1:43 models but unfortunately (for me) they then started concentrating more and more on 1:43 racing Fords and Holdens in endless livery and race number combinations, and on 1:18 scale models. Very nicely done but not my thing, so I gave up on them.
Older 1:43s from both brands (and from Trax) still show up on eBay or are available from good Australian specialist shops like Gateway Models (gatewaymodels.com.au).

Sorry for you Chris, lucky for me I had never quality problems. Tax, custom and shipping costs is another story.
Thanks Jacques but at least I was lucky some of the times and at ….
some Trax models went through customs without the charges ?? Wow!
A real bonus.

Nice model Jacques - Biante also issued some models with opening parts...
these were Holdens and I managed to obtain a saloon and estate versions.
