BendD, I have all of the DeSotos shown and think they are terrific models.
I really don't have a Conquest model that I don't like, just some better then others. The same for MOC. You mention that the MOC models seem to get more attention than the Conquest which may or may not be the case. I suspect that might be because MOC has been out of business for quite a few years so their models are more scarce to serious collectors. Each year I, and many on this forum, go to the Countryside show where an array of new Conquest/Madison models are shown. You would not believe the interest shown on the new products...it's like a feeding frenzy.

One other point to be made. MOCs were made in the good ol' USA.
As such, a bit of their price escalation relates to thier image as "the last of their kind". There are some projects on the horizon that could change this but for now they are the last, best handbuilts from this country.

Make sure also when doing comparisons that Conquests are compared to full-blown MOCs.
Motor City was the top brand. Make sure you are not judging against USA Models, American Models, or Design Studio, though the latter can stand up well to Conquest in some instances.
