I don't look at the Model Car World website much any more, because since Brexit they have stopped shipping to the UK so there's not much point. But I just had a look today and for the first time ever Neo doesn't show up on their "new items" page (or "novelties" as they call them). Things like Ixo and MCG and White Box are there, and even Brekina 1:87 models, but no Neo.

I've noted that for some time now there have been virtually no new Neo models, only re-issues in new colours, but since the brand is actually owned by MCW it was a bit of a surprise to see them missing altogether. I put "Neo" in the search box and they are still selling existing stock, but nothing new.

Of course this may just be a temporary omission during a website revamp. Or there may be a serious hold-up in deliveries of new items from China. On the other hand, given the amount of criticism of recent Neo build quality and the success of rival resin brands, maybe they have thrown in the towel?

Hi there,

it seems that Klaus Kiunke, head of both MCW and Bluebrixx, a company dedicated to importing legoesque building block sets from China, has shifted his main interest to just these.

Apparently, an investor has been taken into the company, and his brick models (can‘t comment on how good they are) have been expansed with a Star Trek (TM) licence, so maybe - just guessing! - that is the reason why the emphasis has shifted from 1 43 Neo car models to Bluebrixx builder kits.

Here in Germany, Bluebrixx has opened several stores for his and also competitors - mostly Chinese and Polish brands, but no original Lego sets - , so I believe that MCW is indeed a bit on the backburner these days, with his main interests being the building blocks.
