I love this model, but wow this is absolutely insane. If it sells, I may be forced to show the seller my wares!

I remember a guy who showed up at one of our shows claiming he had listed a fairly common model for $700. I thought the model was worth more like $100. I said, "You're not going to get many bids on that one." He said, "I only need one!"

Clearly a seller who doesn’t deal in models. They didn’t even fix the tires on the whitewall insert before snapping the pics.

Randy, it's the very rare white tire edition, which is why its so expensive!

On a related note, I ran some analytics on ebay sold prices on Brooklin.  It took a lot of data massaging, so I looked only at Jul, Aug, Oct.  Average price was US$95 (300 models, all conditions) but max prices were 450, 338, and 360!

@karl

Do you remember the models, which went for the three highest prices?

I thought that was even funnier than the asking price!

450 - Brooklin 1/43 Scale BRK9 038 - 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery Van - 1 Of 67

338 - Brooklin Models 1/43 Scale BRK31 - 1953 Pontiac Delivery Van - Red 1 Of 25

360 - Highway Travelers Models, 1963 Studebaker Lark Daytona, Metallic Green, 1:43,HTF (described as made by Brooklin, but I thought these were Illustra or SMTS...)

@mike  Yes,  VERY strange but he does have an equally over priced Madison 1947 Oldsmobile sedan.

@karl Understand that it might be a rare white tire edition, but if you look at the photo of the underside, you can see that the tires are not even mounted on the rims.  They seem to be sitting to the inside up against the frame.

@carsman1958, the seller clearly knows little about scale models.
