The newest Brooklin LE, that EMC Porsche, the great Goldvargs..., those are all really nice, but do you ever wish for a simpler time? (Well, maybe not simpler...) I think our own Randy the RV man gave me this hint, so I do blame this forum, but I went over to ePay the other day and put in a bunch of low bids on some 1/43 Alfas. I doubled up on a few, but I did not win any of those at all; however, I did win six at a great price. I was hoping for one or two... 😆
A Metosul Portugal diecast Giulietta Spider, 2 Carabinieri partworks (very cool Giulia wagon and a Romeo van (get it?) ), another Junior Z (not by Solido but by Verem, still made in France). A Dinky clone, plastic made in Hong Kong at a slightly larger scale, is the OSI Scarabeo ( https://diecast.org/community/1_43/more-about-the-alfa-romeo-scarabeo-concept-car-dinky-toys/ )
Finally, the one resin car is from the 1940 Mille Miglia, where 11 Alfa Romeos were entered. This 6C 2500 SS Spider came in second, #84, piloted by Farina and Mambelli (Racing Sports Cars). Top Model Collection (Italy) was in production in the 1990s and I have not bought any since. I paid 2-4x for them back then compared to this recent one. No real chrome on these old Alfas so no issues with any falling off. Â

A simpler time? I just placed bids on a number of cars on e-bay and got exactly what I wanted! The seller posted more and more until I loose sleep over those I failed to get and forget the wonderful models I did get! I tell you this, because among my wonderful additions are a couple of Alfas, too. I'll post my own pictures when they arrive......and if I'm able, a little on the Tipo 163.

Looks like you both got some great buys. While much on eBay is overpriced, especially once you add on shipping, there are still many good deals to be had. These Alfas really appeal.

Whaaa? I have wanted that 163 for a long time... Oh well. Off to the bay... again. 😉
@karl I think this is as much down to the 1/43 Gods as anything else. it is happenchance and we all have items in our collections that - if we think back - we are so grateful for. Again, when the model arrives I shall take some pictures and share my limited knowledge of its place in time
