thanks John. Here’s a few more pics of them that I took years ago.. Just an FYI These Legendary models come without the drivers mirror installed. They recommend using “white glue” and I agree with that suggestion. Down the road should I want to remove them there won’t be any permanent marks or residue as white glue can be reactivated just using warm water. Nice models but pricey ($325 EACH!), and limited runs. 100 of the Maroon and only 50 of the black version! Mine are #s 24 and 27 respectively. The only reason I bought them was because at the time they were the largest scale available and best detailed until the 1:24 Automodellos came around......

Your Legendary Motors' show that very fine grille, which was such a striking feature of the MK III. Neither Automodello nor GIM reproduced this in their models.
I have the Automodello in a rich pewter-silver with scarlet interior and matching accent stripe. Great shape, proportions, and interior detail. Unfortunately it shed one of its front fender light lenses which was too tiny to recover--what shows now is a clever amber inner element which gave depth to the lenses. This model also has the best non-painted two tone roof Ive ever seen. The MK III did not have the usual vinyl covering which was the rage at the time but instead used something textured to look and feel like silk. It really stands out on this model as on the original.
I sure wish I noticed the missing lens piece before I vacuumed the floors because it was there when i bought it.

Nice pictures Phil. I have the Maroon 69. When I received the model it was in pieces but they were all there but it took some time to put it together. I also have the Pewter Automodello as pictured by Mark.
mark you’re correct! The top on the Mark llls is referred to as “Calvary Twill” material. In the sun it glistens and has a silk appearance. The Mark lll in general was over built and a high quality car. One auto journalist once reviewed one and said “Had Duesenberg still been building cars in 1969 it could have been a Mark lll. Now THAT is a compliment. I’ve parted many of these over the years and can tell you that they are VERY WELL put together with a million bolts, screws, rivets, speed nuts, glue, staples etc. def not a snap together car! Just to remove a door panel there’s about 9 screws, 6-7 bolts, and several wire harness plugs that need to be unplugged and then after all that it has about 8-10 clips all around the outer parameter of the door panel that have to be unsnapped before lifting door panel off the car! Lol. Been there done that!!!!
I have a 97 Mark Viii and to compare it, to remove door panel there’s one main bolt under an armrest cap, you pry out courtesy Lense and there’s one screw under that, and unsnap the door handle bezel, unplug its light wires, unplug lock/window plugs and lift door panel up and off car!! BTW Your silver Mark is beautiful. I’ll have to add that and the blue one
