I have an order from Goldvarg that was supposed to be delivered by USPS yesterday. I received notification from USPS that delivery has been delayed. Then I check once again and find out that my order was in Kent Washington. Now I'm trying to find the logic a package from Ft Lauderdale,Fla to Mississippi is coming by way of Kent, Washington. No wonder our postal service once again is in enormous debt and asking we the taxpayers to bail them out. If the postal service was not a part of the government, it would have been out of business years ago.
Bob...I ordered a model from Legacy Motors....they are in Latham, N.Y., a bit west of me.....
I am in Massachusetts.
The tracking page stated it would be delivered (last) Friday July 3rd...they mailed it Tuesday June 30th.
Well, just like you, USPS obviously does not know the United states geography, because instead of sending it east to Boston, they sent it south to South Carolina.....???
The tracking page does not show any updates since July 3rd...that was the day it landed in S.C. and that was also the day it supposed to be delivered to my house in Massachusetts!
And I whole heartily agree with you about the USPS being bailed out by us taxpayers because they waste money and resources.
Shut them down if they can't stay private and generate their own money.
Here is a map....The big red dot is Legacy Motors...the blue dot is near my house, and all the way down the bottom is South Carolina where USPS sent my model.

I probably have 2-300 model cars and all were ordered via mail or UPS. In all of that I have had one model sent to the wrong address. Let me repeat. One model. That just happened about a week ago. Everyone is working with a reduced staff because of the corona virus. Have you heard of that?
John...if they are on a reduced staff, why are they sending models thousands of miles offtrack?
When they do that, it creates un-needed work and un-needed man hours!
I can understand if they are just slower, but there is really no excuse to send them offtrack like this! that is not caused by being understaffed...that is complete incompetence!
You don't see UPS or other private carriers doing this, because they are not feeding off the taxpayers! if they waste money and resources, they are gone!
Only USPS does this.
I have had international shipments BEFORE the virus, that came in through N.Y. city, just south of me (Massachusetts) and sent to California or Texas, and then to Chicago, and then delivered to me in Massachusetts....and those were NOT isolated incidents....I counted 7 out of 10 deliveries that this happened.
And again, if they are understaffed, why are they sending packages thousands of miles out of their way?
Another USPS horror story
I had a package coming from Eastern Canada to Eugene Oregon. It was delayed for 42 days in Chicago. When it finally arrived in Eugene they could not deliver it because of a misspelling in the street name even though there was a correct 9 digit zip code and my research determined there were only 11 addresses on my street with that exact zip. I tracked it carefully and when it showed up at 8 PM as un-deliverable, the next morning I went to the PO and was informed it had already been sent back to Canada at the PO's expense. No apparent effort to determine the delivery address.

I have used the post office for many years, both as a purchaser and a small time dealer. I am one satisfied customer. Yes, I understand mistakes can and will be made, but I have been new on the job, under-trained for the job, and even overwhelmed by the job (not all at the same time.) With the national pandemic raging, I assume the working atmosphere at the USPS is strained. I appreciate their good work.
Alternatives are available, but be ready to pay for them. (ps- I have never worked for the post office.)
+1. Of course if the USPS goes under, at-risk geezers like me...
...won't be able to mail in a ballot instead of standing in a line of potentially infected people. There's a method to Trump's threats here.
+2. I have never had a problem with their priority mail delivery. Last Thursday, the 2nd, I mailed a large priority-mail box from suburban Austin to Seattle. They said it might take an extra day or two due to the holiday weekend, reduced air flights, skeleton crews, etc. I didn't have a problem with that. They estimated delivery in Seattle tomorrow, the 8th. It got there yesterday morning. That's good service, and at a reasonable cost. The box was fairly heavy, but at $21 flat-rate with delivery 2500 miles away in four days over a holiday weekend, you can't complain about that.
I shudder to think what FedEx or UPS would have charged.
For the most part I'm a satisfied customer also and only ship USPS PRIORITY
happ fortunately for me my country is more little than yours .....
Same here. I sell my no-longer-wanted items on ebay and...
...there is a convenient feature (via PayPal link) to print my own postage. Bang, zoom, the tracking number is there, the address printed, just have to attach to the package. And at a discount too! And in these days of Covid-19, they can be picked up outside or I can drop them in a bin at the PO.
Not perfect sometimes - overseas shipments and buyers purchasing more than one item (which alters the estimate of weight put in when I listed) have me back to writing out a label and occasional customs form.
Very often, the updates on the USPS site are more fast than those on Canada Post.
I knews the last time than my parcel was already in Canada on USPS and on the Canada Post the updates are arrived a few hours after.
Absolutely satisfied with USPS. Better than Fed X and way better than UPS in my experience.
Another thought. Any of you who fly for business & are at the mercy of a corporate travel manager...
...have probably had a flight with a bizarre routing because it was cheaper (despite taking longer, to hell with billable time). These bookings occurred because some less-travelled routes through less-visited airports needed some support and the fares were reduced.
So I wonder if something like this could be occurring once in a while. I think mail is carried by commercial airlines (correct me if I'm wrong here, never seen a USPS jet). Perhaps a circuitous route somehow works out cheaper rather than packed-to-the-hilt major routes. Just a thought anyway, based on memories of podunk airports.
Makes sense when you think of it that way. Postal system has it's faults but
I've never had anything lost. Shipping time for me is no big deal. LOL..... I'm not going anywhere. At least not that I know of so if a delivery takes a while to arrive, no big deal. As long as it comes and isn't damaged in route.
