but you need a level playing field ...

Up until 2006 when the Postal Accountability & Enhancement Act was passed, the USPS was profitable and didn't need a cent from taxpayers. If Fedex and UPS had their prices capped and were forced to set aside $5B per year for 10 yrs to prepay healthcare benefits to their employees, they might also be losing money. If you want to be fair, impose the same constraints on all players.

I'm not saying they don't have room for improvement, but in my 20 yrs as a small business owner they have been the most reliable and cost effective alternative. I have horror stories with both Fedex and UPS that resulted in my losing several clients.

Sorry but I don't call a 20 billion bail out a level playing field.

Oh, by the way my package finally arrived yesterday...nine days from Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. to Jackson, Ms. The icing on the cake was that it was delivered to a neighbor's house.
