I posted a few weeks ago about John White's condition. Just learned he has passed.
This comes from Bob Hooper by way of Rick Thompson. I knew from my conversation with Jeff Lane that there wasn't going to be any miracle as he was already brain dead. A big loss to our hobby.

John was not only a talented craftsman; he was a real gentleman as well.

I only knew about him from the positive comments from others and
I have several of his models, which are amazing. May God bless him.

I've been looking at my group of John's models today, remembering how each one came to be.

Very sad to hear this news. John's work was outstanding...
and I'm sure that all collectors who have his models will treasure them all the more now.

There needs to be some clarification here.
It seems that the transmission of information regarding John White's condition has gotten blurred as it has been passed along, so that hearsay has been presumed to be fact.
John is, in fact, legally and biologically alive in a hospital bed in New Jersey as I write this. He is not expected to improve or recover , but as of right now, he is not past tense.
His close friends there have been involved in a very painful and anguished effort to find some closure to his situation. Societal safeguards intended to protect the individual who cannot speak for themselves can sometimes trap them in legal limbo when no one else has been designated to speak for them. The legal process to unravel this for John is ongoing and has been proceeding for weeks now. Hopefully a resolution can be reached before too long.
This should be a cautionary tale for any of you who do not have a designated Power of Attorney.

I found out that what Joe said is still correct. John is still on life support. Please excuse my posting that I had not verified at the source.
