Harv,
That’s really unexpected to see those stats. I wouldn’t have guessed it’d skew that young. Thanks for sharing.
@randyrusk It would be interesting to see similar stats for BCC and NABCC. I'd bet it skews more to the right side of that bar chart.
Maybe they're buying gifts for Grandpa.
Perhaps this is a reaction to Sergio's inclusion of more 60s and 70s cars?
If this reflects the demographic of 1:43 collectors in general can this explain the overwhelming interest in current race subjects? For example, for years entire starting grids are produced of Le Mans and many of the F1 races. Many of the model manufacturers now concentrate only on race cars. Even past years' DNF racers are offered.Those few that do make road cars don't offer many American cars.
I'm glad that this demographic are at least checking out a site dedicated to American makes of 50-70s. It would be interesting to know who actually buys his products but since many are bought through dealers or online this would be impossible to tabulate.
I agree with Mark it would be interesting to learn who actually buys his models. I don't know for sure but it would be my bet that the reason for this graft is that young people are more likely to be on FB than we older folks.
I'm a bit confused. I have visited Goldvarg website multiple times in October and have never been asked to provide my age at any time and have never provided this information in the past. I wonder if these stats are actually from his facebook page rather than website?
@kenspear, Alexa and Siri got together and told them how old you are! 😉

Ken;
I'm fairly sure it would have to be Facebook related.
I think the most interesting to know is if these 18-34 YO collectors are regular Goldvarg buyers... but I have I think the usual Goldvarg buyers are in another age range...

My guess would be 55+ years old...but it is just a guess.
@jack-dodds My experience taking part in several Facebook group and forums says the same as you, that Goldvarg Collection models are purchased normally by +55 collectors. I think I can be one of the younger Goldvarg Collection customer and I'm 40...

I too find these stats interesting. In my experience, the older age groups from the majority of collectors but maybe this is because of the range of models I have on offer; 1/43rd scale models of street cars up to and including the 1970s, and possibly the odd ones beyond into the early 1980s.
