Just came across an interesting video of the first Grand Prix race.
I have posted it in The Lounge, where I don't usually venture but it seems to be the go-to place for those looking for trivia, while we 1:43 chaps get on with more serious matters.

Well, it came from the BBC sport archives and they say it is "rare footage just unearthed". Since they knew the 70th anniversary of the race was coming up, maybe they went hunting through their old film archives and found it?
I found another video of the race which is in colour but is shorter, with much less race footage:
