- @kenspear Oh, no. Sorry to hear that. Those repairs were beyond my abilities. Hope you can fix yours.
@karl Karl, that's great. I'm glad your's are good.
@kenspear & @whodeytink It's possible they tried a new factory for a particular model and the order didn't come together as planned. In my business we have the same problem. regular factories working perfectly well, but cannot handle an extra order so you have to find a new factory and perhaps have a bad experience - once only!
@karl Karl, that's great. I'm glad yours are good.
In fairness, my Alfas probably have less chrome than 1950-60's American cars so less chance of failure! 😒
This is very confusing ......my post was very specific about KESS Models quality. I don't care about NEO models. There is a new Pierce Arrow coming soon and it looks amazing because this is the first manufacturer that will replicate the Archer hood ornament as it should be in 3D.Â
@nickies As I indicated, my only experience with Kess has been good. If I were thinking of buying, I would wait until issue and check-out all the different vendors that allow a magnified image of the hood ornament before committing. But basically they are good. (PS did you see my last post regarding your Cadillac? It seems it is one of the 220 Imperials).
As was previously stated, Kess detail, paint quality, proportions, etc are good to very good depending on the model. I would not hesitate to buy/recommend their models based on this. The only issue is their quality control which is sometimes not up to par ie: photo-etched parts not affixed properly or adequately. It is usually an easy fix with white glue and tape to hold it in place until dry.
P.S. Nickies: Their Pierce Arrow as well as the Duesenbergs look pretty good. I plan to order one.
