A new release from Matrix in resin. The El Camino sported features that would appear on later production Cadillacs, such as the stainless roof panel and quad headlights ('57 Eldorado Brougham) and the really pointy tailfins without taillights ('55-'56 El Dorado Biarritz). Real car whereabouts are unknown, presumed destroyed. Similar styling was used for the La Espada show car, so I wonder if Matrix plans to issue this one.

Great 1950's GM concept...those fins & taillight design were hallmarks of 1958 Cadillacs.

Beautiful show Cadillacs. It would be great if somehow this one still existed. Joe Bortz I believe was the man responsible for finding and restoring many "lost" show/dream cars.

I would advise everyone to get the met. gray one. I could not find a photo of a black version online, so I find that version potentially spurious, unless someone can prove it existed. Only one El Camino show car was made per the Washington Post.

Based on my research, only one of each were made, the hardtop in Gray/Silver, and the top down in Yellow.

The black color is a fantasy color.

Both were listed as destroyed, unless Joe B. got in there to save them. We probably would have heard about that by now.

One always has to be careful in history saying "Never". Lol, as the saying goes, "Never say never" !

Here is an interesting article :

True, never say never, but I'm comfortable with it as a subject matter expert.

I notice the writer was plugging his book regarding the missing models. Smile

Just looked on my shelf. I have his book and he backs away from 2 cars and does say the car was destroyed.
