In addition to the red Duesey show today by Mike Coupe, Matrix also released this car, which wears the chassis and engine shown above. But technically the 1:1 was in a crash in the 1940s and after repeated restoration projects the frame was scrapped and a replacement found. But it ended up as a 100-point restoration, so who cares? This car, and the red one Mike pictured, are the only two Walker La Grande SJ Torpedo Phaetons built.

I also have the red car, and the Matrix Model X on order, which will make for quite a collection of Matrix Duesenbergs.

After relooking at the photos of the black version, I realized I have seen this one in it's 1:1 form. It was on display at the Gilmore Car Museum a few years ago. The Museum's placard lists it as a '35.

@jcarnutz  Odd that the years shou;d be so far apart. Note the wheel covers on the 1:1 vs. wires on the model.
