No my real name is John, have always been called Jack.  Did not know it was a famous name until I went to college in the late fifties.  They had just started running ads in Time and Newsweek.  Never made it to Lynchburg.  Worked on several projects that were tested at Arnold air force facility and the guys that went would always go to Lynchburg and bring me back stuff.  I have got a lot of mileage putting JD decals on models.

@jack-daniels   Thanks JD!  That land speed cart is fun!  What's the story behind it?  Resin kit? Handmade?

The landspeed kart was the brain child of a friend of mine, Lindley Ruddick. He had found a resin kit of the model and thought it would be fun to give out resin casting to all his friends with the instruction do anything you want with the model build. Having each one of the guys put their own spin on the model. Lindley made couple RTV molds of the body and a plug for the windshield and ten or twelve bodies were made. Each of the guys modified and painted the models doing anything they liked. They then all showed up at model show and displayed their finished model. In my case not having great imagination, just paint the model black and slapped on some JD decals. Some of the models where really outstanding with a lot of creativity. This is one of models that maybe my grandson will not toss since their names are the side as drivers.
