1930: I never thought of Jimmie Rodgers as a blues guy but maybe this yodel is the first blues-country crossover? Ertl made a Packard, who woulda known? 🤔
Any other Tennessee Hustlers here?
@karl like a lot of my musical taste I backed into Jimmie Rodgers (the first inductee to the Country Music Hall of Fame) via a modern act, in this case Boz Scaggs with Duane Allman on guitar “Waiting on a train”. JR was heavily influenced by the bluesmen of his time. 👍😎✌️

I listened to Skip James, then Cream. Amazing - I thought the Cream song was original!
@mg-harv Same for me, Harvey. I had to go back and re-listen to the Cream version. Skip James said it gave him a second career basically!
from 1932 the Mills Brothers were active from 1928 to 1982
