Tabak Und Rum in 1952! Who did the caw caw caw first? 🤔
Interesting, and I'm afraid I have no idea. Something tells me your caw caw, the bayou's sewee and Alpine yodel are related, in communicating, (with animals?) over distance. Perhaps the caw, caw, being a bird imitation, might be Native American idiom - or maybe I've watched Last Of The Mohicans once too often! As for German country tunes, there are some great examles from the '30s!
@frank Nice Buicks: I have the Brooklin but have never been happy as it looks too bulky around the middle! It hasn't the svelte belt-line that yours - and the original - have. And some low-down dirty blues to go with - another nice combo.
@charles-rockett Interesting comments on caw caw related to yodeling. Back in 1951, there was Bob Wills and Texas swing - they did a bit of yodeling and he did add in a haaaw every once in a white! after minute 8:10
This is great footage, Karl, thanks for sharing. Something I love about U.S. popular music is that it benefits from so many different cultures and traditions, with people coming from all over, mixing and sharing. I believe the slide guitar came to Nashville (so to speak) from Hawaii, via Argentina's gaucho and as indicated earlier, perhaps the caw caw, from native Americans via Appalachia. Regarding Yodelling, I love Slim Whitman, whose Chimebells I post below, with some more cars!
@charles-rockett@frank Here is a 1951 model car to add to the thread - it's Italian so I was a little timid about showing it. Italian blues? Never heard of that! 🤔

Karl, you need to have Claudio Villa on your short wave band, when taking those sharp, hairpin bends at speed - Marina ! (A lovely model of a very handsome car).
@mg-harv Very nice set of Fords you have there. I really like your Crestliner as to my eye - and especially in this two-tone green - it is so evocative of the time, (not that I was there).
Very nice Mercury. I have a copy of the Sun Valley, in yellow but I'm afraid the treatment of green 'glass' panels in the roof let the whole, down. Your convertible looks much smarter. PLUS, we get the incomparable Billie.
