Motorkits Lagonda (PIC)

I found this one on Ebay recently and have so far cleaned up the body in readiness for building. I was pleased to find it as although I've built and sold most of the old Motorkits range over the years this one doesn't appear very often. Some of the old Motorkits have appeared in other ranges, the MG SA in Abingdon Classics and Top Marques, the Austin Goodwood in Spa Croft and the Mk5 Jaguar which became a Western then a Minimarque, but the Lagonda has never appeared again as far as I know.

An amazing casting, John. French curves and lots of squares. Were the sidemounts part of the casting or separate? Also, I have a very sophisticated Motorkits Ford AA truck built up by Colin Flannery of Mini Marque '43. Not too much info on Motorkits. Any idea who did the pattern for the Lagonda?

I think a lot of Motorkits were mastered by Bryan Garfield-Jones.
So that's who I would bet on. There might be initials on the base of the casting.

Motorkits Lagonda
Bryan Garfield Jones was one of the 3 founders of Western Models in 1972 , leaving the company to set up Motorkits , masters for the range were made by a variety of craftsmen
