Chris Moroni had asked on the Goldvarg Ford station wagon fire chief thread what 1/43 fire trucks are out there. These are the ones I have. In addition to the 1/43 Ahrens Fox Quad I posted in that thread, I also have a 1920 Rolls Royce and a 1932 Ford AA High Pressure in 1/48. All of these below are Matchbox Models of Yesteryear except where noted.
1905 Busch Self Propelled Fire EngineÂ
Del Prado (nÊe Matchbox) 1907 Seagrave
Road Champs 1912 Christie Steamer
1920 Mack AC Water Tower Truck
1932 Mercedes L5 Spotlight Generator Truck
1936 Leyland Cub FK7
All great looking and unusual fire-trucks ! It is quite a collection.
Talk about an eclectic collection, those look great. Thanks Paul.
Many others, on that initial post, also chimed in with Firetruck models in various scales.Â
The main reason for my inquiry was that "companion models"Â are always nice and it's great when I can pair up commercial vehicles from like periods. As great as Goldvarg's Fire Chief's Ford wagon is, I didn't think there were many, if any, true 1/43 1950's - '70's Firetrucks to go with it. There does seem to be several nice 1/43 Ambulances though.
Thanks to everyone who provided pics & links. I got a real education in 1/43 & "1/43-ish"  scale Firefighting equipment. đÂ
Paul, an interesting set of trucks. My favorite is the spotlight generator one.

@ed-davis Yeah, that's pretty cool. There's a lot of finger fun with these.
Really interesting and varied Paul. Thanks for sharing.
More 1/43 fire trucks. First, all my YatMings.
A couple from Ixo (Smeal ladder and Seagrave Marauder pumper)
Conrad made an LTI ladder in authentic Ft. Worth markings. NFPA's old "Learn Not To Burn" logo is on the sides. And yes, it's 1/43, not 1/50 like other Conrads. I saw a pic of the 1/1 in a Fire Engineering mag when it was delivered eons ago.
Another Matchbox, the 1904 Merryweather.
AutoCult Dodge and Diamond T
A few more are around here, but no pics yet.
Â
Like many of us 1:43 collectors, I usually pass on anything in 1:50 scale. But Holy Cow, these Fire Replicas are amazing works of art! I make an exception for them (but no, I do not display them right next to my 1:43 models). Enjoy!

Exceptional detail on this Fire Replica truck, Dave.
And going way back to what I acquired in the 1950s and '60s here are a few Dinky Toys and Dinky Supertoys along with the fire house. The one in the back right is a Tootsietoy, perhaps a Mack or American La France?

@daveg I need a 1:50 Igloo cooler! So cool! đ
They absolutely miss zero details!! It doesn't show in the photo, but even the 1:50 shovel has woodgrain on the handle!Â
Here is another one of my favorites...Ladder 343 is dedicated to the 343 firefighters who perished in 9/11. With the naked eye, it just looks like a bunch of white horizontal lines on the side. When you magnify it with your camera, you can very clearly read EVERY SINGLE NAME.Â
By the way, none of their rigs are imaginary. EVERY replica is an EXACT copy of a real 1:1 rig that exists in some U.S. city!

This level of detail and modeling of specific real fire trucks reminds me of the 1/64 scale fire trucks made by Code 3. However, with 1/50 scale the amount of details is awesome.

For me, that's one of their best features....along with the woodgrain handle, legible names, and Igloo cooler. Just incredible replicas by any measure.
