This is a '54 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL sports car from Kinsmart and is about 1/36 scale. It is nicely done and is available in different colors at a very low price. One feature is the unique opening gull-wing door and here the car is in a light, off-white color.

I've always been fascinated by this Mercedes. Even when I was a little kid I just knew there was something special about this design.

Years ago when they would have a Mercedes-Benz show out here in Newport Beach there was a rolling chassis sans body that they would display and to see the way the chassis is built is just fantastic. It's basically all just tubing.

A friend had a 300SL roadster with a hardtop that he never took off. Got a ride in it once, terrific ride. He sold it a few years ago and regretted it. In the 1970s he drove it to work every day. He paid $3800 for it. I just saw one sell on BaT for over 1 mil.

That low price is amazing ! It would be a terrific automobile to have and the doors themselves are extremely cool.
