My newest aquisition: CMF 1947 Packard Custom Super Eight Clipper

If you are a lifetime automobile addict, there are cars that are ingrained in your mind from when you were a boy growing up in a city, in my case, Trenton, New Jersey, where there were plenty of cars to look over and study. As a small boy, I walked around my neighborhood and studied this great selection of cars. The top five for me, from the era in which I grew up, were the 1936 Cord Westchester sedan, my all time favorite, belonging to the local Butcher, the 1940-48 Lincoln Continental Cabriolet, at the Beauty Salon, my Uncle Frank's 1941 Cadillac Series 62 Club Coupe, my Dad's 1941 Chevrolet Special DeLuxe, actually all 1940 thru 1948 GM Torpedo bodied cars, and the beautiful 1941 thru 1947 Packard Custom Super Clipper sedan and Club Coupe. Of course there are others, but these impressed an 8 year old, and a 79 year old today.
CMF is a new company. Joe, at American Excellence couldn't come up with a name, but did have the model. It is spectacular.photo no longer available

Thanks for the memories Ray. I grew up in St. Louis and being the same age as you have similar memories of the cars you mentioned. The late forties and fifties were great times for kids who were car nuts. I started collecting promos in 1947 when I first saw them in dealers show rooms and I was hooked. Thanks for the great pictures of the Packard.

Ray, your butcher had panache! Lovely model, unfortunately my only CMF
Had quality control issues with a missing wiper and streaky clear coat. Moreover, I could not find a way to remove it from the display base. Very disappointing. I mention this not to be a wet blanket but to caution fellow Forumites to do their due diligence with their vendors before ordering the model.
