Thanks John....very nice model; cant wait to receive it.
Thanks for your nice review as always. There is something missing abut this model and it was a nice opportunity for Brooklin to surpass themselves but they missed the train. The color is also horrible. No way I would pay $250 for a model missing so much details.

I saw the clip that profiled the real car and to my eye the color was gorgeous. You might change your mind about not liking it if you saw the model in hand. It is of course true that if the various pieces of chrome trim were polished the model would look better but then you would be in a much higher price range.
A terrific review, John ! What a great Buick model and the color is truly sensational. A real gem !
@jack-dodds I owned a concours original 64 Riviera and I am very well aware of what they should look inside and out. I bet the 63 Goldvarg will be far better for less than half the price. For me metal models are a thing of the past no matter how you try to enhanced them to look better, they will always look cheap and inaccurate in many ways.
Don't get me wrong because I had a lot of them 20 year ago before I sold my entire collection. The resin models at the time were very crude but today they are the king of the hill. There will always be diehards for metal models but this is just nostalgia from old collectors as we are.
The one- off color of the 1/1 is beautifully replicated but without the window trim being picked out the model looks unfinished.
@jack-dodds Thank you for your opinion. As you know only the NBC models have the chrome trim polished. This option was not available to the BCC nor is it available on standard releases. The problem going forward is the expectation from collectors that all models should have polished trim. As far as i am aware only the NBC '63 Riviera will have polished trim and not the standard. Lets see what the Ventura is like.

Nickies; Hey.....who are you calling OLD? Lol. Thanks for your response and opinion. There is of course no correct answer to the subject we are discussing, just our opinions which usually vary...lol. Thank goodness for this fact as it keeps our hobby more enjoyable; variety is the spice of life as they say! I agree that the resin models have come a very long way and IMHO Goldvarg in particular has proven that with their top notch quality control. I collect a lot of them now plus some white metal models.
@jack-dodds, well said, my friend. We all have different motivations in our collecting. What a wonderful time to be in the 1/43 end of the hobby with so many choices and options to explore!

It is indeed a beautiful time to be a collector of Brooklin models. This Riviera is absolutely gorgeous. Great My Take presentation, John, as always. The color of that car is just beautiful. Your pictures show the model well.

It could be John's lighting, but the color seems a tad too red to me when comparing to the actual car pic and the ACL chip for a 1965 Cadillac. Online pics of 1:1 '65 Caddies in Samoan Bronze, as well as the GLM models of a '65 Caddy, seem to be less red (and more brownish) as well. But I will withhold final judgment until my model arrives.
Seeing as how there is only one '65 Riviera like this, I wonder if the owner is getting one of the BCC cars? Pics of it on the fender or trunklid would define the accuracy of the paint. Or even on one of those Cadillacs.
I agree with you about the color.
John K:
Could you take a photo of the model with natural/sunlight? This might give a better representation of the model's color.

A grand time for 60s Buick fans: we've hung on to our Corgi Toys and Franklin Mint offerings, and now there are two '63-'65 Rivieras: top-tier white metal gems from Brooklin and top-tier resin gems from Goldvarg. Some here like myself will be tempted to get one of each. These will sell out fast including the Brooklin '63 so I hope both makers will consider third choices if there is demand.
BTW there are a few photos of 1965 Cadillacs in Samoan Bronze out there. See how the color can vary.. This is going to be one of those colors that will look very different from every angle and in every sort of light [rather like our iridescent pet bird]..... But as I see it and as John said Brooklin has it right.
