Amazing model presented perfectly...

I think these wood panels could also be fitted to convertibles and coupes and perhaps Pontiacs and Oldsmobiles with the same size GM body??

Here's a little info on the "woody" that I found:

First popularized in the early 1940s, fastback coupes became all the rage when automobile production resumed after WWII. As a sub-series of the Fleetmaster full-size line, the Fleetline re-debuted in 1946 as both a very sleek two-door fastback Aero Sedan and a four-door sedan Sportmaster. By 1948, the car had undergone very few changes, most notably a center support pillar in the grille. The year 1948 proved to be the single highest production year of Fleetline cars, with some 276,078 produced. Of which, 211,861 were Aero Sedans. This was 27% of total Chevrolet production in 1948! Unique to the Aero Sedan was the optional dealer-installed "Country Club" wood trim. Manufactured by Engineered Enterprises of Detroit, this was a rare option, most likely the result of its $149.95 sticker price!

Very nice model. 1994 Brooklin released their aero sedan. I think now a days Brooklin will do it as nice as Neo do.

A late frind of mine was a Chevy dealer back in the forties and had an original set of these wood panels. He also had an AACA Senior 48 convertible. For years he told me that he was going to have these installed on his convertible. Long story short, we were at Hershey and we were talking with some guy about this wood set and he offered him $3,000 for the set and it got sold.

Great Story Bob! My dad was born in 1925, so he had some great stories....my favorite story was he remembered when he was 5 years old, in 1930, his dad took him to the Ford dealer in the family model T to trade in for a brand new model A.... What I find so great about that story, is Henry Ford was still alive and still running the show.
I lost my dad 3 years ago at 92 years old, and I miss him everyday!

Kits were available on Fleetline Aerosedans, Convertibles and Fleetmaster Coupes. I have a sales brochure on the kit, which was dealer installed.

Steve 54 is entirely too young for the loss of a loved one. MY dad passed away at 56 so I can relate. BenD you were very fortunate to have your dad to such a ripe old age.

You couldn't be more right Bob, I was lucky to have him so long, and my memories of him will last my lifetime. He was an exception to the rule that the good die young!

My wife on the other hand, was the princess of that rule... I lost her to cancer 5 years ago this month at the young age of 53.

Neo gets 99.9% of that credit Randy....if it is a lighter model, I use a dark background, and vice versa, and I always use a lot of light.
